Micro-Credentials
& Statements of Attainment

Pick up a single unit of competency from the Diploma of Screen & Media. Each micro-credential is a fully accredited, nationally recognised qualification in its own right — and every one counts towards the full Diploma if you choose to continue.

Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment Diploma Credit Eligible AfterPay Available

Real qualifications.
At your own pace.

A micro-credential is a single unit of competency from a nationally accredited course. It is not a short course. It is not a certificate of participation. It is a formal, assessed qualification — a Statement of Attainment — issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and registered with ASQA.

That means it carries real weight on your resume, with employers, and within the industry. And if you later decide to complete the full Diploma of Screen & Media (CUA51020), every micro-credential you have already completed can be credited off against it — so you are never paying twice for the same learning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a micro-credential and a short course?
A short course gives you knowledge and a certificate of participation. A micro-credential is a formally assessed unit of competency — it results in a Statement of Attainment issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework. It carries real weight with employers and can be credited towards a full qualification.
Do I need any prior experience to enrol?
No prior experience is required for most units. Some advanced units (CUAMUP512, CUAMUP513) are best suited to students who already have a foundation in makeup artistry. If you are unsure, call our Course Advisors on 0428 217 285 and they will help you choose the right starting point.
How are the assessments structured?
Each unit includes a combination of practical assessments (observed in class), written knowledge questions, and a portfolio of evidence. Your trainer will guide you through the requirements from day one. There is no final exam — assessment is ongoing throughout the unit.
Can I do more than one micro-credential at a time?
Yes. Many of the units are taught concurrently within the Diploma timetable. Speak to a Course Advisor about which units run in the same intake period so you can plan accordingly.
What payment options are available?
We accept all major credit cards, AfterPay and PayPal. We do not currently offer payment plans for micro-credentials. AfterPay allows you to split your payment into four fortnightly instalments at no extra cost.
If I complete a micro-credential, do I get credit towards the Diploma?
Yes. Every unit of competency you complete as a micro-credential is a unit of the Diploma of Screen & Media (CUA51020). When you enrol in the full Diploma, AOM will apply Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for any units you have already completed and been assessed in. You will not repeat or pay for those units again.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held exclusively on Campus in Brisbane. Micro-credentials follow the same on-campus timetable as the Diploma, so you attend the sessions relevant to your chosen unit alongside Diploma students.
